Firefox v4b9 does not automatically reload/refresh my previous page when I press the back arrow button. When I press the back button the topic I just read still shows up being unread(BOLD) where in v3.6 the topic changed to (UNBOLD), making it clear it's been read with no new replies. Are there any settings to FIX this ???

Make sure that you keep history and that you are not in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode if you want to see the visited link status.

Make sure that these prefs are enabled on the about:config page:

  • places.history.enabled
  • layout.css.visited_links_enabled

NOT in "private browsing"

  • places.history.enable &
  • layout.css.visited_links_enabled

are both set to "true/enabled" as per default

This is a BIG bug for me, as I spend 50% of my day on forums where this feature really is needed.  :(

Anything else anyone can advise me to check/try ??? i notice 30 other people have this problem .... so what did we do wrong upgrading from v3.6 to v4. are none of the 'devs' having a problem like this ?  :(

Seting this:

network.http.use-cache

to false resolves this problem.

Not using cache does work, but not with all sites. It's basically works out the same as having to press F5 to reload the page & by not using the cache you slow down your browsing experience quite a bit, especially on a 384 line like myself.  :(

So, this is not the correct fix, as there are many that have that setting on true & their browser behave like it did with 3.6

Once again i'm waiting for a proper solution.!  :(

It's solves problem with PHPBB3 platforms. Most of people post in this thread using it and I give this solution for them.
