Thank for the suggestion . . . but I'm not sure what to do with the link. Double clicking on it just pulls up a blank page . . . maybe because it's a PC document(?). My computer is a Mac.
Actually getting rid of the error message is not the problem. It's easy enough to "click it off." But my guess is the better way to deal with that is to correct whatever is causing the problem that results in that message.
Meanwhile, I am now able to open FireFox, but still have to clear the recent history (including cache and cookies) after EVERY keystroke. Unless I do, the browser freezes and won't budge. (IOW, it's impossible to scroll up or down . . . or to turn the page.)
Seems to happen to me when I have had hotmail open for a short while. I think it could be their new integration of Windows Live Messenger service into the hotmail website?
Maybe . . . but unlikely.
I'm not using Windows Live Messenger. (My mail service (mail.com) was folded into aol earlier this year, but ever since all my files were migrated into that system, it's been trouble-free.
Actually, I've experienced your problem in reverse. If I leave FF open and move on to other browsers or software, they sometimes seem to slow down, as well — though not as seriously as FF.
The message about the busy script pops up repetedly when I open my Hotmailaccount in Mozilla Firefox. Last week I used Messenger, but I am not signed in when I open hotmail. I had downloaded Skype. I read it could help solve the problem to download the newest version of Adobe Reader. This is what I tried, but it didn't work. I don't know what may cause the problem. Did anyone already solve the problem successfully? Can you help?
I meant Adobe Flash Player. Not Adobe Reader.
I've been having the same problems. Youtube started to run really slowly at the same time that this happened. I installed the latest Flash player which seemed to fix the Youtube problem. However, it didn't really fix the problem. So now I think it's the Hotmail script issue that's slowing down the whole browser so then things in other tabs don't run properly either.
You can also check the pref dom.storage.enabled on the about:config page and make sure that the pref is set to true.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
