mailto tag appears in yahoo mail

more options

If I go to a website (my own or others), and click on a link that uses the "mailto" tag, and have Firefox use my existing Yahoo Mail account as my e-mail application, then the word "mailto:" (without the quotes) will appear in the "To" name, along with the desired e-mail address (e.g., "mailto:them@their.com" (without the double-quotes)). This will not work when I attempt to send the message; in other words, I have to manually remove the "mailto:" tag, which shouldn't be there in the first place.

Feel free to contact me for more info, answer questions, beta test, etc.

Thank you for your time.

I do not have any Yahoo toolbars, in case that is a factor.

The "modern" Yahoo mail works for me. Are you using the "classic" interface by any chance?

yes, yahoo classic mail.

I do not use any Firefox or third-party toolbars, so that is not the issue. It's just something about the mailto tag with Yahoo mail, if not other web-based e-mails. And, as far as I know, it doesn't matter whether you use the classic or newer version of Yahoo mail.

I was having the same problem. I don't like the fact that it is an experimental add-on, but adding the MailFrom add-on and setting Yahoo Classic as the default solved this for me.
