It's a bit galling, that I'm having to do this with Chrome, but Firefox (85.0.2 (64-bit)) has simply become useless. I even tried a fresh install of the beta version, to no avail.

The only page that displays, is the about:support troubleshooting page.

This issue can be caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox. Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019:
