You're right!...I just tried it and the videos now play OK.

&nbsp   Yay ! My guess is that the site owner noticed it and fixed it ...

Thanks for looking into it for me........very much appreciated. :-)

Can you provide a working example of this issue?

How can I provide a working example?

If I open the Daily Express online https://www.express.co.uk/

....and then open any news item that has a video embedded, I get the error when the video tries to play.....Does this help?

The video player on the https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1228151/boris-johnson-nicola-sturgeon-snp-scottish-independence-referendum-indyref2-leave-vote page states that it tries to play the application/vnd.apple.mpegurl file type.

I think that this file type is not standard and can be played only on Apple devices.

Well I have had no problem with these videos for years.....this has only just happened today????

Well, ask them. Maybe they've changed their formats, IDK.

I get the same error on that site, I tried everything like turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection, allowing audio and video, cookies etc., but it makes no difference.

Videos play fine (for me) when I use Edge (I am on Windows 10)

Unless someone else comes up with a better idea, you could do what TyDraniu suggests and ask the m using this link :

https://www.express.co.uk/supportticket

First, when you try a video, you could check the webconsole for error messages : Ctrl + Shift + K

(I get : "NotFoundError: Node was not found")

Just now I tried again, and lo and behold : the videos play !

I got the spinning wheel first, but then, when I clicked at the bottom (progress bar) on the muted speaker, not only audio, but the video as well started to play .....

Maybe it was just a temporary glitch.

The website uses the Brightcove Player and VideoJS as you can see in the Web Console if you only enable the Logs. For me the player play content-type: video/MP2T

The warning include a message about unsupported media types.

No decoders for some of the requested formats: application/vnd.apple.mpegurl, audio/mpegurl, audio/x-mpegurl, application/x-mpegurl, video/x-mpegurl, video/mpegurl, application/mpegurl, application/dash+xml

Screenshot of the Web Console included.
