Hello redeye,

Would you please do this :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar browser.translation

Look for these preferences :

browser.translation.detectLanguage : the value should be false

browser.translation.engine determines which translation service Firefox uses.

browser.translation.ui.show : the value should be false

If you had to change anything, then close and restart Firefox.

In case you're using a translation related add-on, please see :

What do you mean with auto translate? If this is about translating a website then this is only possible with an extension.

You use the Firefox version from the Ubuntu repositories and this version may add extra language pack and spell check dictionaries if that is what you are referring to.
