I am new here and technically challenged. I have a MAC 10.9.5. TOday firefox stopped loading a couple favorite sites. So I managed to figure how to update it to version 59.0. But it still wont load a few regular sites. Example. It loads CNN news, but wont load fox news. I get "Problem loading page" and try again as connection was reset. But I have tired all day and it wont load.

PK Shadow. I sure appreciate you. I didn't want to leave you hanging. I had to upgrade my operating system and it took care of everything. Have a wonderful day and thank you again....

There are issues with servers as per : https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/03/14/microsoft_secures_the_servers_of_the_world/ See if there are issues on sites and or near you : http://downdetector.com/

Trying to avoid working on what maybe a perfectly good install and for you not to have to compile another or do a refresh.

PKshadow thank you so much but the article didn't make sense to me (over my head) and the down detetctor site wont load either. I did do a mozilla refresh... at least I think I did and I have no idea how I managed to do it and could not do it again if I had to.

Also I should say that the trouble began when I woke up today aand I did the firefox upgrade several hours later. At first my firefox was only version 57.

Hi, Nothing to worry about here. You could call your phone provider and see if they can force a reboot to router. If it is cable can unplug modem and reboot it.

How about see if can download a new ver 59 Full Version Installer from here please : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Thanks so much for doing your best to help me. Before I do anything else, I should tell you that just before I went to bed I discovered that CHROME is doing the same thing. It goes to some sites but not others. For example. I cant get on wikipedia with either browser. Does that mean my computer is dying? I cant afford a new one. In light of this new information should I still try the two things you recommended? I sure appreciate your help.
