Why does the browser's theme bleed in the customizer tab?

This is just a random question, but why does the theme bleed in the customizer tab? And by bleed, I mean it fades down further than it does with the normal browser tab. Honestly, I like this, as it shows more of the theme. Is there any way to replicate this fading effect outside of the customizer tab?

Hi

Great question.

I know the effect you mean and I think there are two elements to the answer.

  • The Customise screen allows people to add a toolbar for bookmarks and to alter the sizing of the existing toolbars, so showing a bit more theme is handy.
  • I am not sure how possible, how good it would look and how distracting it might be to have the theme bleed into web pages during normal browsing.

I hope this helps explains things.
