firefox homepage opens, enter a search press enter it dissappears

when I try to use the search i.e bbc or aol. I enter that in the search bar and press the enter key and the search disappears back to a blank search bar

hello, please make sure that you have version 46.0.1 installed, which is available from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ and see if the issue is still present there...

Hi the first 2 times I opened firefox all was ok, the next time it reverted to as before/ 46.0.1 is installed I have just reset but still cannot search.
