I had been having trouble with ASK.com and trying to get rid of it. I went through various steps. My desktop, all of a sudden, changed orientation from upright to inclined to the right. This happened yesterday all of a sudden. I need to have my desktop changed back.

I saw these shortcuts in an online article:

Ctrl + Alt + LeftArrow : places the "logical" top of the screen at the left edge, so rotated 90 degrees to the left

Ctrl + Alt + RightArrow : places the "logical" top of the screen at the right edge, so rotated 90 degrees to the right

Ctrl + Alt + UpArrow : places the "logical" top of the screen back at the physical top

Is that what is happening on yours?

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove ASK Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

If the above does not help,

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

After the problem is fixed, Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
