If you set the prefs to 0 then you disable this feature and you won't be able to restore a closed tab or window. To make this work these prefs need to have at least a value of 1.

  • browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo: 10
  • browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo: 3

Do you see any items listed in "History > Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" after closing a tab?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
