Why isnt there an option to see the percentage of upload when a file is being uploaded ?

When we are uploading a file,in chrome the percentage of upload is shown in the bottom bar (the one where url links are shown as they are loaded. This feature is not present in firefox and would be a good requirement for people who upload a lot of files

No not site specific.This is required in any site which supports file uploads
