There is a white bar about a half inch running vertical on the right hand of my screen and it's causing my firefox to work improperly. What is wrong?

As the question states. The problems is that my mouse has to be about a cm or 2 to the right of icons and anything that is clickable to highlight the item and to be able to click it. Not sure what is wrong?

The uploaded image is a screen shot showing the right part of my screen with a white vertical bar. No other program on my computer does this. Not sure what to do. It's not a big problem, it's more annoying than anything.
