I'm new to this Mac and uh, i went on FireFox and it said 'Unresponsive Script' with a google chrome script link and, it froze. I couldn't click anything but only put the tab away. I tried restarting but Firefox wouldn't allow me.

I'm new to the mac so help? :(

Firefox uses the "chrome://" protocol to access its own internal files and also access files from extensions, so that has nothing to do with Google Chrome.

What is the URL of the chrome:// protocol link as that can tell us what is wrong?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
