I have no idea if it is related but the same error message has been seen when antivirus programs loose the plot over new upgrades for years.

I have the same login hang with frontier yahoo beginning on 10/06. Worked in morning stopped in afternoon. Receiving intermittently worked 3 different times after the initial login hang when a password prompt popped up after leaving mail open for an extended time. Sending works fine.
