I've noticed this glitch recently happening with a brand new laptop I bought about two months ago. It came installed with Windows 10, and after noticing this glitch a few days ago, I tried updating my Firefox to resolve the issue. However, updating Firefox didn't seem to help at all.

Clicking on a tab seems to make the error go away in that particular area (see the second attachment), but whenever I minimize Firefox I have to deal with this issue. I've already tried the basic "turn off hardware acceleration" tip but that didn't help either.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

I see the padlock with an exclamation mark attached meaning that mixed passive content is present on the page. Google websites wouldn't show this warning normally.

You can see a special padlock at the left end of the location/address bar.

You can check the Web Console (Firefox menu button or Tools > Web Developer) to see what content this is about.
