Ive googled this & recommendations about things in the about:config, but not sure any of them apply to my case. "Galaxy S9 and Galaxy A51 5G. Firefox Nightly and Regular. Updated Versions. Android 11.

When I scroll on any site, most of the time two scrolls are required for one response. Pages only move on every 2nd finger wipe, I have to wipe down or up twice each time to get the page to move.

This is on Nightly and Regular. But I then try out the same website on Google Chrome, it works fine. The scrolling is responsive to each finger scroll. It's just on Firefox browsers. This is a new phone, and it did the same thing on my old phone too.

So I don't know what settings I need to change, or is this just how FireFox is? It's scrolling is problematic?

Thanks

Hi

I cannot guarantee it, but this might just work. You will need to install Firefox for Android Beta alongside the app you currently use and this may have unresolved issues our developers are still working on.

In the address bar, enter about:config. In the search bar (top right), enter ui.scrolling.friction. This will display two settings: ui.scrolling.friction_fast and ui.scrolling.friction_slow. For both settings, double tap on the -1. Delete the -1 and enter -1500. Once done, in the address bar, enter about:home. Close Firefox for Android and re-open it.

So I downloaded FireFox Beta, and before trying the changes you stated, I just visited a website and am able to scroll through it just fine. I then visited that same website on Firefox Nightly, and I encounter the scrolling issue.

So it seems without even making the Friction changes in About:config, Firefox beta does not have the issue but Nightly does. Hmmm. I also tried turning off all add-on widgets, same result.

Hi

Please appreciate that the Nightly version is "unfinished" and may have outstanding issues that are being looked into by our developers. You are welcome to file an issue in respect of what you are seeing at:
