Using Thunderbird V102.3 When attempting to open a previously saved message, Thunderbird generates an enormous number of tabs, each with its own message, which makes using the application a PITA.

I attached 2 images. One image shows a highlighted Sent message (Subject: Tribe of David - September Newsletter Reminder), which I will attempt to open.

The other image image shows the result of attempting to open the Sent message (Subject: Tribe of David - September Newsletter Reminder). The result is that a crazy slew of tabs, each with its own message, are generated

The first screenshot indicates you're using threaded view. When double clicking the first message of a thread, it will open all messages belonging to this thread in tabs.

Expand the thread first before double clicking to open a message.

Christ1 - I turned off the "Threaded View", which resolved my problem. Thanks. BTW - Christ is #1 !!
