Each time I add a new feed I first copy the link in Firefox then create a folder in Thunderbird and then need to right-click press subscribe and paste the link. This gets annoying quickly and I would like to ease that process.

I have no experience writing Thunderbird Add-ons, but maybe I will start investigating this just to solve this problem. Any help what would be the easiest way to ease this process via an Add-on would be grealtly appreciated! Here are some ideas:

- Thunderbird could read and update the feedlist on startup form an external JSON file - There could be a Firefox plus a Thunderbird extension working hand in hand so one wouldn't even need to switch focus when adding a feed - There could be a button in Thunderbird which simply offers to add a new feed from the clipboard (with the option to create each feed in its own folder).

I click the RSS feed icon on the web wite in Firefox and Thunderbird is offered as the feed reader.

options > Advanced > general will allow you to check if Thunderbird is the default mail client and it should offer RSS feeds when you click check now.
