task bar emil notification and address book.

On the bottom task bar, I have the Thunderbird icon. All good. Now, is there a way to adapt a little notice to it every time a new email arrives? Every other email client that I have used, has a little number or something to notify me of a new email. Yes, I do have a sound notification but don't like having my speakers on at all. Thanks guys

Oh, while we're here, why doesn't Thunderbird have the address book folder on the main page? It would be much quicker to have it there than having to sift through the whole 'write' process.

It appears you tried to install it in Firefox, instead of TB. Right-click the download button, Save Link as..., download the xpi installer, then in TB Tools/Add-ons/Extensions, click the gear icon next to Search, Install add-on from file, select the xpi. The add-on works here in TB 68.5/W10.

CardBook shows contacts in a tab, but I don't see that as much different from the standard Address Book in a window.

Thanks sfhowers, but when I try to download it throws up a box, 'this add-on cannot be installed because it is not verified" I googled that, but it just lead me into other unrelated add-ons and links. As did the 'Cardbook' one.

Is there anyway to bypass that? Thanks again.

Oh, and my desktop is but 2 weeks old with windows 10 pro, and I believe the latest Thunderbird version.
