My Thunderbird email folders used to be in alphabetical order but got re-arranged. Dragging and dropping doesn't seem to be working. How do I put them back as they were?

Go to the add-ons tab Click on Extensions Type Manually Sort Folders in the search box Install that.

Thanks so much for your help. That solved some of the problem, but two folders had gotten positioned as subfolders. I need to make them main folders again and then position them. The add-on is not able to reposition subfolders. Any other thoughts?

If the add-on will not move them and drag and drop does not work I am not sure what else you can do.

Is there a way to "Select All" the emails in a folder, so I can move them all at once to a new folder and then just delete the folder that's out of place?
