I have tried to install lookout add-in, but Thunderbird will not install it, giving a message that is is not a verified add-in. Any suggestions on how to configure Thunderbird to open winmail.dat files. Thanks in advance.

Which add-on did you install? The newest one, LookOut+, installs properly here in TB 52.
