plug in container

Since the last few updates, this "plug-in container" thing is really getting worse and worse! My Firefox hangs almost three or four times an hour. I have to go to my Task Manager to kill them in order for my FF to get back to work!

I know there's nothing Mozilla can do about that since it's the problems with plug-ins. But the thing is I have been using FF since it came out and I love its plugins. But the problem gets worse and worse with each update. If the plug-ins (I think mostly Adobe Flash) kept giving me problems, I would have to go to Chrome even though I couldn't use most of the plug-ins I love.

And also since the last few updates, my FF has been using a lot of memory, usually around 1.5GB and sometimes even up to 2GB. I have to clear my cache very often as well.

I know this is not a question, but just want to let Mozilla know about the issues. I am sure I am not the only one.

The plugin container is related to the operation of plugins. A good way to reduce the amount of system resources that this process requires, is to disable the plugins that you don't use. Websites are beginning to move away from plugins, so there are now very few that you will require on a day-to-day basis.

For example, I only have Flash Player and the OpenH264 Video Codec enabled and I have never had an issue with a website not functioning properly.

In regard to Firefox using a lot of memory in general, you should take a look at this Mozilla support article for some tips on how to prevent Firefox from hogging your memory:
