My email settings were changed from imap to smtp and i am not able to view my old mails.
Hello Everyone,
Yesterday i was told to change my settings from imap to smtp. Upon doing it, i immediately started to receive new emails but old ones do not show in the Inbox. The default path of "Thunderbird" folder is in D: drive wherein all emails were downloaded. Please help as the emails are very important. Thank you.

Who told you to do that? IMAP is for incoming messages, SMTP is used for outgoing messages. These two are not interchangeable, so it's important to use each in the right place and context.
Please go to Help|Troubleshooting, clear "Include account names", click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste into your reply here, so we can check what you're actually using. Thank you.
