Hi oneironaut, Firefox's internal PDF viewer (based on pdf.js) converts the PDF to HTML. There is a possibility that a PDF could be crafted to trigger some kind of vulnerability in that conversion code, but it would have to be a different kind of attack from ones affecting native applications like Adobe Reader/Acrobat or Apple Preview. Also, you may feel more comfortable knowing that if the PDF contains JavaScript for an Adobe application, that is disregarded by the pdf.js viewer.
