Prior to 4.0 upgrade I had a gmail click on button in firefix, now is gone
In the version just prior to Firefox 4, the word gmail would appear on the Firefox page, allowing me to click into the account. Now the word is gone and I am having to go through several steps to get into my gmail account. When I go to bookmarks, only about 1/5 of the screen is devoted to gmail, the remainder is the Firefox page. Frustrating, wish I had not upgraded.

If all you want is a button in one of your toolbars for Gmail [ mail.google.com ] you can install the add-on called "Toolbar Buttons" - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/toolbar-buttons/ - right-click anywhere in a toolbar, open 'Customize' & drag the Gmail button anywhere you want it (almost). I didn't quite understand the issue about bookmarks & 1/5 of the screen for gmail so it's possible I'm misunderstanding you. But I'm throwing this out just in case.
Modified
This is not the only problem. Customization is gone, there's no possibility of change options, right click anywhere in a toolbar and open 'Customize', as other people suggest, just doesn't work (nothing happens, no dialogue appears), automatic tranlation is gone, etc. It is impossible to uninstal, too. Please fix this mess.
