I go to news sites on the internet and want to copy a news snippet and paste it in an email. When I paste it in a Tbird email is there any way to control how large the font is? Seems like If I copy something that has an extremely large font that's the font that will appear in my Tbird email message. Is there a way to make whatever I copy and paste the same as my default font that I have in Tbird?

Chosen solution

Use Paste Without Formatting (Ctrl+Shift+V) to make the pasted content conform to the default.

What's preventing you from selecting the text and formatting it as desired? Is the formatting toolbar not visible in the compose window?

Hi and thanks for your reply

So go to a website like NPR for example and see a headline I want to copy and paste into an email. I paste it in and yes, the format tab is visible. I paste in the headline, highlight it and click on Format. I was able to make the font smaller as that's one of the choices. But it was not possible to change the headline from bold to normal. But then I was able to go to the tool bar right above the message and there is a drop down box to choose 'body text' or 'paragraph', etc and by choosing body text I was able to get rid of the bold type.

So there are two actions: the first is to go to format and make changes there and then to that drop down box to fine tune it... correct?
