It could be smart if you could access he "bookmarks toolbar" with at keyboard shorcut If we say the shortcut was "ALT + B" Now you are on the "bookmarks Toolbar Here you have some "often-used bookmarks" - lets say: "Google Maps", "Youtube","IMDb","Facebook","mozilla"

Now imagine how easily you can get for instance Youtube: Just Tab "Alt+B" and then "Y" (for the Youtube-bookmark)

as this is a primarily community-run support forum so it's probably not the right place to request features (we cannot implement any features & devs won't read here). please either use https://input.mozilla.org/feedback for general feedback or if you feel that it's a missing feature in the browser file a bug at bugzilla.mozilla.org. thank you!

hello T-buch, you can already do something similar without a shortcut to the bookmarks-toolbar. right-click a bookmark, go to properties and assign a keyword for it (maybe "Y" in your example for youtube). you can then jump into the addressbar (F6, Alt + D or Ctrl + L), type the keyword and hit enter to go to that site...

Thanks a lot - Yes I am familiar with the use of keywords in bookmarks properties - Using them could be a little more cumbersome way to solve it. What differentiates my idea to the firefoxmaker from the method you describe - is

  1. you have to do the work of plotting in keywords
  2. You cannot use keywords for folders in your bookmarks-toolbar
  3. (In mere bagatelle) you have to do more keyboard clicks by the keywords method ("f6" -> "keyword: Y" -> "arrow down" > "Enter")

I can see on the internet that others (way back to 2004) have ask for the same shortcut feature as me - so I hope the makers of firefox will think about my idea
