I created several new folders for an Apple Id email address. I closed Thunderbird. When I reopened it, all my folders were gone for this id. A different email address was not affected. Is there any way to get These folders back?

You're correct. I do mean icloud. I was able to find the missing folders by logging directly onto my icloud account. I was trying to find out why they disappeared from Thunderbird and if there was a way to get them back into Thunderbird.
