linux ubuntu yahoo oath2
help thunderbird 64.10 on linux ubuntu16 not access yahoo oath web portal so cannot download emails. account setup in thunderboard including oath2 password option successful, but not bringing up the oath authorisation page when try to download messages.
cannot upgrade thunderbird to later version as no upgrade/update button on "about" screen
use later version thunderbird on windows machine with no problem

Thunderbird 64 will not work with google oauth if I recall correctly, the issue was a long time ago, but so is V64. Try upgrading to a supported version. 91.8 is the current release
Thank you Unfortunately V64 is the one still listed in the ubuntu canonical libraries for automatic setup, so I uninstalled it, downloaded version 91 from the thunderbird website, and learned how to run it (not so easy for a newbie). Same problem.
For comparison. When I enter an old or incorrect password in the windows version, if I interrupt by closing the app it asks if i want to enter a new password or retry. I say enter new psw. Then the yahoo oath2 window comes up next time i start thunderbird and try to download emails.
I do not get this question when i close the ubuntu version. So I never get the chance to give yahoo the password. If I interrupt or wait till timeout, and close the app, I get no extra question.
