When updating to 45.x.x I lose the autocomplete facility.

Please explain in detail what that means.

45.x.x means V45. anything. anything In my case it was 45.1.1 and 45.2.0

Sorry I thought that was a standard way to express the both versions mentioned.

Lose means it was not there or in this case it was not working?

I have never seen autocomplete be native to Thunderbird. Do you have an add on installed to do this for you? If so maybe it needs updating or a message to the add on author to fix it.

To the best of my knowledge I do not have anything extra to offer me a choice if there are similar addresses, I call this facility auto complete. If I enter "kim" while using v38 it offers me a choice of email addresses starting with those letters while v45.1 and V45.2 do not, I have to type the whole address.

For the Address Fields. I thought you wanted the composition window to work like a cell phone and complete your typed message for you.

Under Options-Composition-Adressing do you have anything checked?

Attached is a screen print of what you are talking about, all options are ticked, I have tried each one separately all and none, although I did not think it would work without being ticked, but I thought I would try in any case.

1/- Simply writing email to send, is my objective. 2/- Simply I want auto suggest to work on the email address field. 3/- It does not happen but Options-Composition-Addressing has been configured in order for this facility to work. 4/- I expect it to work, but it does not in v45.x.x but it has previously and will work again if I return to v38.5.1, I have Win 10 installed 64bit version I have a i5 processor with 8G memory. 5/- I have also discovered that the uploading of my files to this site never actually complete? That is something else and I will try to upload to another site as I do not normally get this problem. 6/- Sorry about the file that was not uploaded but as I explained I was trying all settings on that page to see if anything made a difference.

If I uncheck "local address book " under Options-Composition-Addressing / .. look for matching entries in... I get a red pointer and have to write the entire address.
