I have re-installed Firefox, but the problem only re-occurs.

The problem has only started occurring today.

Google searches work in other web browsers as well...

I do not have the Google Toolbar installed, I just have Google as my default search provider.

I have updated available plugins to no avail.

hello ben, please also try to clear all cookies for google.com and the browser cache & see if the page is coming up as normal afterwards.

Hi, Madperson... Clearing the cache seems to have resolved the issue. However, it has re-occurred (with clearing the cache seeming to fix the issue again).

Not sure what is accumulating in the cache that causes the issue, nor how to prevent it.

If it persists, I will bring the thread up again.

Thanks! Not sure why I didn't try that earlier - removed cookies, but didn't think to clear the cache.

In any case - advice & time much appreciated!

You can also try to reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
