The tabs are gone from the top of the page to the left of the search bar GONE

The tabs are gone. It will show one open page, and when I open another tab (via the +) the first page disappears without a trace. There is no tab at the top to go back to it, to go back and forth between open tabs. See the top, very top very left,of the image below. That is all I have, no tabs.

Try to remove the search bar from the Tab bar as that is a possible cause for this issue.
