Auto correct in search window

I have a HTC One Max. I love using Firefox for Android, with one exception, that drives me nuts. I have the auto correction for text entries enabled for various Apps. While this does not operate in the standard Internet App search window, the same can't be said for the Firefox search window. As I need to enter combinations of alpha- numerics, when I search, using part numbers for machinery components, it drives me nuts when the auto correct insists on converting my part numbers to known words in the onboard dictionary. How do I stop Firefox from allowing the auto correct to operate in the search window.

This is a keyboard setting. It may be possible to disable it in the Android OS settings Language and input section. The exact steps vary depending on the Android version and manufacturer.

The other option would be to use a different keyboard such as the Google Keyboard if your device is supported.

The issue is that I want to retain the auto correction in most apps, but not in the Firefox search window. Changing the suggested settings disables the auto correct in all apps. This is a Firefox specific issue. I do not have this problem with the Internet explorer app that came with the phone.
