Only in the last 24 hours,I cannot add Attachements to emails I downloaded Microsoft Iview & that change Preferences on a lot of Apps Below is a examaple of it,I have tried different PDF Readers & they all do the same If I Go To The actual Folder in D Drive,then they will all open ok Please assist Thank you Darryl.Smith

Opened TB 115.11.0 (64 bit) this am A compact procedure started up. I am now left with a message whose subject is quite different from the content The next message has just come through - apparently no problem, but the original error remains. See screenshot. Not sure what to do next!

Each time I open Thunderbird email, a page on firefox opens requesting a donation. This has been going on for weeks. I reached out to Thunderbird, and all suggestions have failed to resolve the problem. Most recently I was instructed to submit the problem here. I hope this is sufficient for requesting assistance. My Thunderbird 115.10.2 (64 bit) is lately running very slowly. Message content takes forever to show. Sometimes don't show at all. Sent messages take 20s to save.

I was thinking that my files were simply too large, so I erase everything before 2022-01-01. Where we are now:

  Inbox            13,662 messages 3.0 gb
  All Mail         22,722 messages 5.8 gb
  Sent mail       5,175 messages  1.2 gb
  Important    13,093 messages  3.1 gb
  Other             4,700 messages (approx)

Questions: 1. Can I delete the "Important" messages, thereby perhaps freeing up 3.1 gb? In which case how do I do that?

2. Does this look like too many messages for TB? It's two and a half years worth. Like to keep it, but not at the expense of making the system so slow.

I have removed the databases twice and started with a new instance of TB, which is where we are now.

I recently un-installed an old version of Thunderbird that was showing a vulnerabilty and would not patch itself to the latest version for some reason (old version was in the 60s). I had all mail stored in a non-standard folder on my D drive so that it would be included with my backups. After uninstalling, my non-standard folder is still there. However, the location where Thunderbird was originally installed was removed and that is not included in my backups.

I installed today the newest version of Thunderbird, but I cannot get it to open my old mail. I'm able to login to my accounts, but I need to access the email stored in my non-standard storage file.

I'm a thunderbird user. I've been getting large blocks of 40 or 50 old (4-5 months old) emails in the middle of the current emails. I delete them, but they're still in their original location.

Hello, when I put a photo in the text or in the signature, the photo is attached in the destination email, if I add the logo photo and social media photos, they all appear in the destination email attachment. Even when the person replies to our email, those images are attached to our email. I have put all the settings on HTML and tested different modes, but my problem has not been solved and when I activate or deactivate 'Attach the signature from a file instead' the problem is persist or don't show picture correctly. What is the solution that picture show correctly in email and don't appear in attachment?

I changed the password for one of my gmail accounts and now Thunderbird can't access it. It kept asking for verification. When I realized the problem I changed out the '@' but I can't change the password in Thunderbird. New emails are accessible in Gmail and Outlook but Thunderbird doesn't show then and nothing happens when I use 'get messages'. I need to delete the problem account to re-enter it, when I try to add the email address as a new account Thunderbird just says it already exists and does nothing.

Hi I decided to donate so I could get rid of the automatic start of my browser showing the request for donation screen whenever I open Thunderbird. Even though I received the confirmation that I successfully donated, I still get the annoying request for donation. How do I stop the auto load of the browser?

I received a message with the remark "This message contains an invitation to an event." What follows is several screens of metadata (that's what I think it's called), followed by the original note from the sender. Is there a way for me to suppress all this metadata? When I forward the message to a friend who has an iPad, it shows up without the metadata. I'd like that to be the situation when I use Thunderbird.

Hi. My hard drive crashed. I have a new pc and the old drive is readable in a drive enclosure hooked up to new PC via usb. I have done the typical search for the appdata profile file, but I am not sure what I have here. I have attached a screenshot of the old drive and a global search on "Thunderbird". I am not sure where the profile file is residing. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

today, i guess, it crashed completely . it started by firing of a warning that not enough space is provided which was not true, then it downloaded 10 messages at once... after a while, the message pane was lost. you click on an email and nothing. it selects it but nothing shows up. blank screen. double click, also opens a new blank tab. fearing a totally corrupt database or even a re-install i pressed repair on the folder. took ages. now, though, i have the profile folder in my PC intact, but TB refuses to load it. i only see the 20 emails i got lately. like starting a new profile all over again...

It is supposed that all emails (received & sent) are saved locally in Thunderbrid. I moved my hosting account from one provider to the other provider, I setup same email address as i had with the previous provider and also using in the Thunderbrid. I could still see all the emails but Thunderbird asked me for a new password. Things were ok up to this point but when i entered the new password, all of a sudden all the emails of that account disappeared. Surprisingly when i try to search something using search toolbox, Thunderbird shows me result from all the emails that are disappeared.

I believe emails are still there but disappeared due to some glitch & that need to be fixed in the code. Can anyone please provide me a work around or development can fix this bug & release a new version ?

Hi, Since 4 days all emails messages ending by ".... @akeonet.com" (SFR company) can't be sent or received via THUNDERBIRD. When opening THUNDERBIRD a password is asked for address email "lalevee.claude@akeonet.com". But the current password doesn't work. I'am getting then a demand to "try again" or "enter a new password" or "cancel" but again without any success. However when trying "Configure your existing address email", I'am getting the message: the email address ("lalevee.claude@akeonet.com") is found in the FAI data base MOZILLA ! Using AKEO webmail, I can find new messages received or can send new ones. Please notice, adresses ending by "...@gmail.com" are not concerned by this problem, and still working !??? Stopping firewalls doesn't solve the issue.

I've had Thunderbird running for a few years now without any issue. Last week I upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 and ever since that I've been having problems on Thunderbird sending email.

I can receive mails fine but if I try to send emails from any account I get "Sending of the message failed"

I've for 2 Outlook.com accounts and one gmail.com account and all give issues.

GMail I'm using: smtp.gmail.com Port 465 SSL/TLS OAuth2

Outlook: smtp-mail.outlook.com Port: 587 StartTLS Auth: Normal Password.

These settings have worked fine before the upgrade so think there is something broken my TB.
