i was using Firefox (12), now (13) with the same problem : Few days ago whenever i open firefox, the first page (starting page) is blank as i configure it under options/tools.. But if I open any tab on the same running window a strange site opens.. and if i open more tabs, the same site opens again and again.. i tried tools/options to blank the pages without success.. Mind you that this URL doesn't show in the window of : Tools/Options/General !! on the contrary, on IExplorer i had the same problem but, by blanking the starting page under tools/options, it is ok now.

My problem is clearly explained... the answer is too general and is based on generalities given by Firefox. the support was not helpfull at all.!

IMPORTANT

All those : Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware SuperAntispyware Portable Scanner wont eliminate the problem. In fact they quarantine files only and if you uninstall them the problem goes back.. The public here is misdirected to say the least..
