Hi, I really like the narrator feature in Reader Mode, however the default on my System (Fedora 24 GNU+Linux) is espeak and I can hardly understand half of what it's reading/ "saying." I installed pyttsx, festival and flite but none of them are now shown, only "Default" and languages for default. Where does Firefox look for these voices? Which file do I need to edit?

Thanks and regards

Probably in your profile, also check in your "about:config"

Can speach be controlled from the command line? maybe that 's all FF uses and you would just have to symlink your new ones and change the exe. But I have no idea how it works, I just know in OSX you can control them via the terminal.,.. Firefox also relies heavily on FFMPEG so that could be a lead too...

Hi Beerbaron23, thanks for the tips, however I think I need to know where the settings for voices are in the operating system instead of Firefox. Because there is only "Default" suggested in Firefox. I use GNU+Linux so there are no .exe's. Regards
