Default Emai,Thunderbird in Firefox
I opened Options, clicked on mailto, clicked on "use other" window opened, I selected "Cancel", and chose another application, hit OK It did not resolved the problem. I have Firefox 25. This problem began when I added and then deleted an Add-On for Firefox mail. I checked all defaults and have Thunderbird as default. When I respond to a website email no mail screen pops up.

Hmmm, in your More System Details (thank you for posting that) a possibly relevant value has been changed from its defaults:
- network.protocol-handler.external.mailto: False
If changing the mailto preference in the Options dialog didn't fix this automatically, you could switch it as follows:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste mailto and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto preference to switch it back to true, or right-click > Reset it.
Any improvement?

Could you try manually updating the setting as described in this article: Change the program used to open email links. Does that work, or is the setting still ignored?

Thank you, your second option resolved the problem.
