ROBOFORM thinks it is upgrading to Firefox 3.6 and fails. I am running 11.0. Where could it be picking up the version 3.6 info?

I am running Firefox 11.0. I have the ROBOFORM password manager installed. When I tried to upgrade to Roboform 7.5 I get a message that it can not install the Firefox adapter on version 3.6. It seems to work OK with Internet Explorer. The only reply I got from the Roboform people was to completely uninstall Firefox and reinstall. Afraid I would loose all of my extensions, settings, etc if I do this. Somehow the installation is finding a remnant of a very old version. Can anyone help with this problem? I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with all current updates.

Can you install Roboform 7.7.5 and try?

I downloaded a program from Roboform called rfwipeout.exe. I backed up my passwords, identities, etc and completely removed all traces of roboform. This did not help. When I re-installed the roboform new release it got the same message that it thinks I am using version 3.6 of Firefox instead of 11.0. There must be some setting in the Firefox folders that never gets changed when you update to a new version.

Soon after that I ran a backup of Firefox profiles identities, etc using MOZ BACKUP. I had never noticed this until then but the message asks if I want to backup Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Since 2 completely different programs refer to my installation as 3.6 there must be something wrong in one of the Firefox files.

Do you have any old profiles from earlier versions of Firefox? You can use

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Open Containing Folder"

to open your active profile folder. Navigate up one level and see what else you find. If there are other profiles you want to preserve for future reference, make a copy somewhere outside of your \Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles path.

Then you can use the Profile Manager to remove those profiles. See Managing profiles for information on how to restart Firefox in the Profile Manager.

There is only one profile entry in the profile directory. It has the name ii0hpjr7.default and shows a last modified date of 04/21/2012. There are a lot of files in the folder. I did notice that the long page of information after selecting trouble shooting info does show version 11.0 which is correct. with sp many files in the profile folder I do not know where to look to see if any of them are outdated.

There are a lot of files in a profile folder, but I don't know which, if any, Roboform or Mozbackup would check for a version number.

By any chance do you have a separate Firefox program folder for 3.6 in

C:\Program Files (x86)
