Security Certificate Exception process does not work

more options

The add security exception box has all options other than "Get Certificate" greyed out. I am adding this exception because my site, as with many other volunteer sites, does not have a certificate, and I cannot access it with the excellent Fire FTP.

Please allow an exception to be added when there is no certificate

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Thank you for the replies. They make no difference. And surely they should not have too. It is putting an address in a look up table. why is it difficult?
