Thinderbird has gotten progressively worse over the past couple of years. How do we get 91.13 or so reinstalled and turn off updates?

There is not supported version but the current release and there is no supported consumer setting to prevent updates. There are settings for corporate settings, but they rely on updates being offered from another source than the official one.
