cannot print web page from Firefox
i cannot print any web page from Firefox. The print option only offers me the option to save as PDF. Firefox is not detecting either my Brother laser printer or my Epson inkjet printer. if i use the print using system dialogue option fire fox shows a printer screen which has a simple entry of line prntr. If that is selected nothing at all happens. Clearly Firefox cannot detect my printers. If I save the web pages to a PDF file then open that file I can then get the normal system printing options and print the page. But all that does is clutter up my file system with files I will only ever use once. This proves the problem is clearly in Firefox and in its inability to detect system printers. I have tried all the suggestions from the help screens to no avail. Is there any other means of sorting this print problem.

I have solved the problem. When I last updated Firefox it loaded Firefox as a snapd. When I went to installed applications in software (mine is a linux 20.04 system) clicked on Firefox selected permissions at top of page and saw that when the snap version installed itself . The permissions "print Documents" had set itself to Off. I changed this in the drop down to "snapd/cups" and now Firefox sees all my OS printers just fine. At a loss to understand why it did this on installation it was one of only two permissions it did not activate.

When did you install the Printer drivers after or before? To get the print option they must be installed correctly for the Browser to see those options. You need to give specific examples or site and what steps your doing that it doesn't print for others to see what is happening. And did you try to print in Private Mode browsing to verify if this isn't a software or Addon issue.
