Firefox hangs periodically when selecting text on webpages

I would suggest within the last month or so Firefox has started to hang in a way that everything continues to "work" but I cannot switch tabs and I cannot do anything else with Firefox until I kill it.

I can periodically reproduce this by: Randomly select and copy text on a website.

Behavior observed: You can no longer switch tabs, enter a new location, close tabs, or really interact with the browser at all even though it is not dead. Keyboard shortcuts do not work either.

Version: 107.0

If you're just running your distro version, I would recommend your run Firefox from Mozilla plus another version like Beta, Dev, or Nightly. I noticed this issue back in 102 and it happens for me mostly in Windows. I would switch to another version until it came back to life. Screenshot shows the versions I run on most of my laptops. Running multiple version keeps your data safe in case an update goes BOOM and your data is missing. I use sync so my data is on multiple devices in different versions of Firefox.

Well reluctantly I did this and I have not run into the problem yet so I am going to stick with that binary for now and maybe file something with Arch if I get enough clarity around what is actually going on.

Thank you!
