Firefox won't minimise after update

more options

I have just updated Firefox to 106.0.4 (64-bit), the latest version. The first issue was that all my add-ons and extensions were disabled, and I had to manually re-enable all of them.

The next issue is that I cannot now minimise Firefox. I have tried the published fix - Go to the menu, then "More Tools" then "Customise Toolbar" and finally untick the "Title bar" on the lower left side. This has no effect.

Can anyone suggest another fix? I am using Windows 11 (not yet updated to 2022 H2 - am waiting for this to become stable).

It's bizarre. After two hours of trying various things, such as re-booting the computer and everything else I can think of (other than removing Firefox and re-installing) - and I have just tried again.

The minimise line is now working properly!

Thank you for trying help, anyway.

PS: I am computer literate, having had PCs since 1981 (a pre-production model supplied by IBM) and I have used Firefox since it first came onto the scene.

Is the minimize button missing? If it's present, what happens when you click it? (I'm referring to the flat line button that is the first of the standard trio of Windows buttons at the upper right of the window frame.)

Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate you are a volunteer.

Yes, the minimise line is still there. Indeed, all three icons are there. When I click on the minimise line, Firefox minimises for a second, then comes back. I also tried both ticking and unticking the Title bar box and this doesn't make any difference.

I have looked at Firefox on my laptop (Windows 11, 22 H2 updated, but Firefox still on 106.0.3 (64-bit)) - with the Title bar ticked and that works normally.

Hmm, browser windows definitely should not spring up from the task bar on their own... Does the restoring immediately behavior occur for every page/site or is it linked to a particular page/site?
