Firefox is unable to send the request at the startup, meaning it's just keep showing loading... and then opens the webpage after a couple of minutes. For example, if I open instagram.com: At the bottom it says, "sending request to www.instagram.com" and it stucks on that for some time as I'm not able to click anywhere in the webpage. And sometimes, it says, "transferring data from www.instagram.com" PC and the internet connection is fine. What could be the issue?

Go to menu -> Settings -> Privacy & Security and scroll down to Cookies and site data.

Do you see Calculating site data and cache size… before connecting to instagram?

Yes, I can see "Calculating site data and cache size" for like 20 seconds. Although I had deleted this a month ago. But it didn't fix the issue. Like I was saying above. Either the webpage stucks on sending the request or transferring data or performing a TLS handshake or read.

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?


Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address box.

Under Advanced, Select Network.

[56+] Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address box. Look for Network. +++++++++++++++++++++ Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. If you are using a proxy, make sure those settings are correct. If there is no proxy, first try No Proxy. If there is a problem, then try System Proxy.
