Text jumps around as adds load

As I read my local Newspaper, the text jumps up and down as adds change, making it impossible to read. It doesn't happen with Chrome. Several sites say that Firefox now offers "Scroll Anchoring" to fix this, but Firefox Help doesn't list any such feature.

Here is where you can modify the scroll anchoring behavior, although I don't know whether that will resolve the issue (you might need an ad blocker):

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste anchoring and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the layout.css.scroll-anchoring.enabled preference to switch the value between true and false to see what difference that makes on the next page load

Thanks. Was about the same either way. I appreciate your suggestions.

You also could consider an extension like uBlock Origin to help tame the ads...
