Not sure if messages are being sent and receiving error message

Yesterday Thunderbird was asking me to enter my new password every time I tried to send an email. I set a new password. Today I'm getting the message that is attached. The email is not appearing in the Sent folder so I don't know if it was actually sent or not.

This is a known Yahoo problem. Join the crowd. https://forums.yahoo.net/t5/Account-security/CLIENTBUG-SELECT-command-is-not-valid-in-this-state/td-p/300162

There is no solution for this. All you can do is to complain to Yahoo. It will eventually work again in a couple of days.

This is not a Yahoo account. It is Compuserve. I also just received the same error message about my Inbox. It seems now I am not connecting to Compuserve at all.

Well, check with your email provider.

It may very well be a Yahoo problem:

"In 2015 Verizon acquired AOL, including its CompuServe division. In 2017 after Verizon completed its acquisition of Yahoo, CompuServe became part of Verizon's newly formed Oath Inc. subsidiary."

Well, that AOL/Yahoo connection explains a lot. The third party server on my phone kept sending me to Yahoo when I tried to set up my Compuserve account. Thanks for that info! In the meantime, Compuserve had me change my account settings to 'csi' instead of 'aol' and that looks like it solved my problem. Thanks everyone for your help.
