Bookmarks Toolbar keeps re-appearing after hiding?

I hide the bookmarks toolbar and it keeps re-appearing. It hides in the tab that's open, and then it re-appears when I open a new tab. what gives? I have restored Firefox and that didn't help either.

This is likely a problem with the Hide BookmarksBar 3.3.1 extension that shows in the System Details list next to the question.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
