Even though I have my security settings set to block pop ups and attack sites, and never to accept third party cookies, I find that I am going in to the control panel and deleted the same old adware almost every day after my browser is hi-jacked. Is there no way to specify and BLOCK specific URLs from loading in the Firefox browser? I can see them all listed in my history and it seems there's nothing that I can do about preventing them from coming back time after time! I'm at work for goodness sake! I've got shit to do that doesn't include spending time on this over and over again!

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

If the issue continues to return, please take a careful look at which websites you are visiting and look for any that may pose a security risk.
