Chrome loads a portion of itself when windows starts. This makes subsequent page loads much quicker because the entire infrastructure of the program doesn't have to be loaded from scratch when a web page is requested. Firefox is snappy enough when there is already a page open - the first page just takes a fairly long time to load.

Is there a way to direct Firefox to pre-load when Windows starts up?

There is a configure entry called prefetch, but I understand it's on by default. Check it out: In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :

  1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
  3. search for "prefetch" it will be a bit longer

However Firefox also has a temp cache for visited pages.firefox loads pages on computer start up, but for a more smooth start up experience try this:Firefox takes a long time to start up
